Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek is buying US$500 million worth of pre- ferred stock in Chesapeake Energy as the US producer looks to cut debt and boost share- holder value. “This investment is consistent with our theme of supporting companies with deep comparative advantages. We remain confident of the growth potential of the energy sector,” Temasek said in a statement (IOD Dec.7,p6).
