Italy Gas Throughput Shrinks

Snam Rete Gas, the regulated Italian gas grid operator owned 52.54% by Eni, reported significant year-on-year cuts in 2009 throughput Wednesday. Gas injected into its transport grid was 10.2% lower at 76.9 Bcm (7.44 Bcf/d); consumption by power stations and industrial users was around 15% down (IOD Jul.30,p8).
