Petroecuador, Ecuador's state oil company, may sign two new joint ventures as part of a strategy to boost ties with other state-owned firms. Petroecuador announced Thursday that it would soon sign a contract with China's Sinopec to explore the Oglan Block in the Amazon jungle. That field contains two oil fields, T and Hollin, which together are estimated to have proved reserves of up to 40 million barrels.
