ICE Brent and Nymex Gasoline Hold Above Pivotal Technical Levels

The January Brent crude contract on ICE Futures eked out a gain of 2￠ on Friday and managed to hold above crucial technical trading levels. However, it still lost $5.64 on the week as oil suffered a reversal of fortune. In New York, the Nymex January gasoline contract closed above the pivotal $1.8347 per gallon mark after pushing higher in the last half hour of trade. A close below that price would have triggered "contagious" weakness, PVM brokerage warned.
