Court Upholds Total Ruling

A French appeals court Tuesday upheld a judgment that found Total responsible for a major 1999 oil spill caused when the tanker Erika sank off northwestern France, spilling 20,000 tons of crude oil, covering 400 km of coastline and killing thousands of birds and marine animals.
