India Delays National Clean Fuels Rollout

India will start selling Euro-4 standard fuels in 13 big cities on Apr. 1, on schedule, but its plans to roll out Euro-3 gasoline and diesel across the rest of the country will be delayed by six months. "We today reviewed industry's preparedness" to begin supplying cleaner fuel, Junior Oil Minister Jitin Prasada said in New Delhi Wednesday. He said the review showed that while Euro-4 gasoline and diesel will "for sure" be supplied in 13 cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, from April, "Euro-3 will be launched in phases to cover the entire nation by Oct. 1."
