Gazprom Rethinks Priorities in Light of Global Financial Crisis

Gazprom says it remains confident about its future as a global energy player, having rethought its priorities in light of the world financial crisis. At the Russian gas giant’s annual share- holder meeting Friday, Chief Executive Alexei Miller said Gazprom has looked again at investment projects and ranked them in order of importance. The company was last year forced to slash planned spend- ing by 17%, which helped in the process of revising the investment strategy to focus on core projects.
