Italy's Eni has started producing gas from its North Bardawil development in Egypt's Mediterranean offshore, where expected maximum output will be 2.7 MMcm/d (17,000 boe/d), or just under 1 Bcm/yr. Eni said its equity share is about 6,000 boe/d. The project consists of two sub-sea wells linked to a production platform by a 24 km pipeline. Partners are Eni's Egyptian affiliate, IEOC, with 60%, and Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Co. (Egypt) with 40%. The concession is operated by Petrobel, IEOC's joint operating company with state Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. (EGPC).
