South Stream Gas Pipeline Faces Problems in Serbia and Bulgaria

Russian gas giant Gazprom and Serbia's Srbijagas are holding talks in Moscow to set up a joint venture to construct the segment of the proposed South Stream natural gas pipeline that will run through Serbian territory. South Stream is intended to transport Russian gas under the Black Sea to Europe, bypassing Turkey. But the 31 Bcm/year pipeline faces obstacles in both Serbia and Bulgaria.
