Tepco Plugs Into Electric Cars

Tokyo Electric Power Co. (Tepco), Japan's largest utility, hopes to tap into the growing electric car business as the country seeks to cut carbon emissions. Tepco has set up an association with top Japanese car manufac turers Toyota Motor, Nissan Motor, Mitsubishi Motors and Fuji Heavy Industries to promote use of quick-charge installations to recharge electric cars. A further 158 businesses and government bodies, including 20 foreign firms, are expected to join.
