Ukraine plans to buy just 41 Bcm of Russian gas in 2011, down from the 55 Bcm stipulated in the contract signed by the previous government in January, the Kommersant-Ukraina newspaper reported Thursday. It intends to buy 36.5 Bcm this year. The sides have all but agreed to cut the amount, but legal documents have still to be be signed, the daily quoted an Ukrainian official as saying.
