摘要

A US court has reinstated a case over the alleged involvement of Royal Dutch Shell's Nigerian affiliate in the execution of Nigerian activists in the 1990s. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York overturned an earlier decision dismissing claims against Shell Petroleum Development Co. (SPDC). Shell is accused of human rights and environmental abuses, including complicity in trying to influence the trial that led to the execution in November 1995 of Ken Saro-Wiwa and eight other Ogoni activists. Shell categorically denies the charges.
