Contrary to rumors that he had been sacked, Turkmenistan’s deputy prime minister in charge of energy matters, Baymurad Khodjamuhammedov, has broken his leg in a Jet Ski accident in the Caspian Sea and will be out of action for a few weeks, diplomats in Ashkhabad tell International Oil Daily. In the meantime, his duties in Turkmenistan, which holds the world’s fourth-biggest gas reserves, will be temporarily taken over by the director of the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources, Yashygeldy Kakayev.
