Woodside Reaches Impasse With Landowners on Browse LNG Site

Negotiations over the planned site of an LNG hub in Western Australia have ground to a halt amid disagreement between landowners and LNG project developer Woodside, Western Australia Premier Colin Barnett says. The government has identified roughly 3,500 hectares (8,600 acres) of land at James Price Point in the environmentally sensitive Kimberley region as the site of the hub. A land access deal is being hammered out between Aboriginal landowners, represented by the Kimberley Land Council (KLC), the state and federal government, and Woodside, which is considering building its Browse LNG plant in the area.
