M&P, Cove Eye Africa Gas

French explorer Maurel & Prom (M&P) and UK-listed Cove Energy hope to raise their profile on the East African gas scene after lining up a $12 million deal with Artumas Group giving the duo an option to buy parts of its stakes in three blocks. The blocks - Mnazi in Tanzania, and Onshore Rovuma and Offshore Rovuma in Mozambique - are contiguous. The option runs until Aug. 18.
