EU Clears Turkish, Fuel JVs

German generator EnBW and Turkish steel and industrial conglomerate Borusan Holding have won European Commission approval to set up their 50-50 joint venture, Borusan Energji. Plans for the venture - already active in Turkey - to develop 2,000 MW of new, mainly renewables generation capacity were outlined in a memorandum of understanding between the parent firms in March. EnBW is owned 45% by French giant EDF (IOD Mar.4,p8).
