Gazprom to Name Sakhalin Boss

Gazprom will name a new head of Sakhalin-2 project operator Sakhalin Energy on Dec. 1. Gazprom Deputy Chief Executive Alexander Medvedev told a Sakhalin conference last week that the state gas giant has a number of candidates in mind, but declined to name them. Sources say it is looking at three, including Andrei Galaev, now deputy to Sakhalin Energy's current boss, Royal Dutch Shell representative Ian Craig. Craig is leaving to take the reins of the Anglo-Dutch supermajor's Africa division (IOD Jun.22).
