Iran Gears Up to Start Drilling in Caspian

Iran is gearing up to start exploring its sector of the Caspian Sea after finally completing construction of a semisubmersible rig that can tackle the large, deepwater structures of the South Caspian. The head of National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC), Seifollah Jashnsaz, said drilling would start soon on the first of two deepwater structures, managed by a foreign contractor.
