India Eyes Long-Term Oman Gas

India says it wants long-term gas supplies from Oman, although the country's most promising gas project is still several years away from starting up. The Omani press quoted India's minister of state for corporate affairs, Salman Khurshid, as saying in Mus- cat that New Delhi is seeking increased gas supplies to fuel the projected rise in its GDP and is looking beyond the irregular deliver- ies it now gets from Oman. “We would like a long-term relationship with Oman [on] this front,” Khurshid was quoted as saying in Muscat, where he met with Oman's ruler, Sultan Qaboos.
