Mikhail Gutseriyev, a founder and owner of 246,000 b/d Russian producer Russneft, has returned home after spending nearly three years in exile in London. On his return, he went to his native re- public of Ingushetia and to Northern Osse- tia, where he visited the burial place of his parents and son. Many view this as a sign that his main mission now will be investing heavily in a bid to restore order in the restive Caucasian republic. This is believed to be the main reason Gutseriyev was allowed to re- turn, unlike the other oligarchs who had to leave Russia under pressure from the author- ities.
