Halliburton Deal Renewed

US oil services giant Halliburton said it has been awarded a two-year contract extension by Norway's StatoilHydro to provide fluids systems for multiple fields, including cementing services for 20 rigs, and drilling and completion fluids for 16 rigs on the Norwegian continental shelf. The contract extension, valued at about $450 million, is the second two-year option exercised by Statoil. In addition to drilling and completion fluids and cementing services, Halliburton will provide drilling waste management and pumping services under the contract extension.
