Report Concludes Asia Key to Global Climate Change Success

For any global accord on climate change to work, its center of political gravity must be based in Asia and not Western Europe, according to a new analysis by experts at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS). Since current and future growth in carbon emissions will be concentrated in Asia, any architecture that does not take account of Asian political realities is “inherently flawed, no matter how politically correct by Euro- pean standards,” CSIS authors Charles Free- man and Michael Green conclude.
