Scorpion Entices Ensco

Oil services group Ensco, which recently moved headquarters from the US to the UK, has bid for 19% of Norway’s Scorpion Off- shore at a price of 39.50 Norwegian kroner ($6.04) per share. The bid — which values Scorpion at $546 million — trumps an earli- er 39 kroner/share offer made by rival Nor- wegian group Seadrill. Ensco said that in ad- dition to the 19% for which it is bidding, it has an option to buy a further 31%, which would take its holding to over 50% and give it control of Scorpion.
