Algeria has launched a licensing round for 10 exploration areas, with bids due on Mar. 3, 2011, and contracts to be signed by Mar. 20, 2011. On offer are the Guern Cheikh perimeter in the Oued-Mya Basin; the Isarene West, Timissit East and Bordj Omar Driss North perimeters in the Illizi Basin; Belrhazi in the Sbaa Basin; the Rhourde Rouni II, Zemlet En Naga, Rhourde El Louh II and Rhourde Fares perimeters in the Berkine Basin; and Hodna West in the Tell Basin. The Energy Ministry’s announcement said the acreage had “high” resource potential.
