GE said Tuesday it had won a $500 mil- lion contract from Saudi Aramco to provide a range of equipment and services for an ex pansion of the gas-oil processing facilities at Saudi Arabia's giant Shaybah oil field. GE will provide 11 gas turbine generators, 44 compressors, motors and services to gener- ate the additional 729 MW of power re- quired for upgrades at Shaybah, in the re- mote Rub al-Khali desert.
