Australia-listed Beach Energy said Tuesday that it has acquired majority control of Im- press Energy by lifting its interest in the company to more than 50%, just over a week after it made a recommended and un- conditional cash offer. Beach last Monday of- fered A8.5￠ (US8.5￠) per Impress share, up from a previous merger agreement that had valued the stock at A8.25￠ (IOD Dec.7,p7).
