摘要

East Timor is forging ahead with plans to offer new offshore acreage next year, covering both its own exclusive area and the Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA) shared with Australia. The latter, home to large discoveries including the Bayu-Undan and Sunrise fields, is likely to attract most interest, but this may be influenced by the outcome of the first wells in the exclusive area this year, Rui Soares, director of exploration and pro- duction at regulatory agency ANP, told International Oil Daily on the sidelines of a conference Wednesday. “We’ll have to wait and see. We are having two wells drilled this year [in the exclusive area]. We’ll see what the interest will be after those,” he said.
