Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft has opened a joint representative office with security forces in the autonomous republic of Dagestan in a bid to ensure the safety of oil infrastructure and production facilities in the troubled North Caucasus region. The office will also keep a close eye on the Dagestan leg of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline, Transneft regional subsidiary Chernomortransneft said.
