Norway Issues Pandemic Guide to Operators Over Swine Flu

Norway has ordered offshore operators to update their plans for handling pandemic influenza in line with measures being taken in a number of other oil-producing countries, including those where swine flu has already been confirmed. The Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) issued a statement on Monday saying it has drawn up guidelines advising oil and gas companies on how to detect infected personnel before they come on board an offshore installation - and how the virus should be treated if cases are detected.
