FACILE SYNTHESIS OF SUBSTITUTED VINYL-CONTAINING FERROCENE DERIVATIVES VIA ARSONIUM SALTS

A novel method using arsonium salts in syntheses of ferrocene derivatives has been reported. Twelve substituted vinyl-containing mono-ferrocene derivatives as well as one bi-ferrocene derivative were synthesized from ferrocenyl aldehydes. The method has the advantage of simplicity, mild reaction conditions, good yields and high stereoselectivity. Eight of the reported ferrocene derivatives have not been reported before. All of them were satisfactorily characterized by H-1 NMR, elemental analyses, IR and MS spectra. [References: 14]
