Kashagan First Oil Deadline Still in Doubt

First oil from Kazakhstan's supergiant Kashagan field is on course to come on stream in 2012, according to the project's general director. But sources close to the project say privately that this target is optimistic and predict the seven-member consortium developing the field may struggle even to meet the firm deadline of October 2013 agreed with the Kazakh government at the end of last year.
