European Union forces in the Gulf of Aden Friday beat off a Somali pirate attack on a Greek-flagged oil tanker, the merchant marine ministry in Athens reported.The tanker Kriti Episkopi, carrying a crew of seven Greeks, came under attack early Friday. The captain alerted the crisis unit at the Greek ministry, which in turn contacted the headquarters of the EU Ata-lanta naval mission operating in the area, which dispatched an aircraft, a helicopter and a frigate, Dow Jones Newswires said.
