UK-based Afren said Thursday that it has lifted the reserve estimate for its Ebok field in Nigeria after hitting a larger-than-expected hydrocarbon column. The proven and probable reserve estimate of 93 million bbl is higher than the previously reported 78 million bbl after the Ebok-5 appraisal well yielded more oil pay in deeper reservoirs.
