Iraq is aiming to boost production capacity from its southern oil fields by more than 600,000 barrels per day next year - and projects with foreign partners are set to account for most of the increase. The biggest gains are expected from Rumaila, the oil field awarded to BP and China National Petroleum Corp. in Baghdad’s first oil tender, according to 2011 quarterly production targets (see table).
