Shell Enters South Tambei Race

Royal Dutch Shell has officially acknowledged it wants a role developing the giant South Tambei field on the Yamal peninsula, which holds 1.26 Tcm of gas and 51.6 million tons of condensate. Shell wants to "take a stake" in the field, licensed to top gas independent Novatek, Chief Executive Peter Voser said recently.
