Mitsubishi Sets Iraq Gas Share

Japan's Mitsubishi is to take a 5% stake in Royal Dutch Shell's proposed project to gather and process gas in southern Iraq, an Iraqi oil official tells International Oil Daily (IOD May6,p1). Mitsubishi will be a partner in the new Basrah Gas Co. (BGC), in which Iraq's South Gas Co. (SGC) will own 51% and Shell 44%. The final 25-year deal to bring BGC into being is still on track for a September signing, the official said.
