Valero, Oz Firm Ink Biodiesel Deal

Valero Energy, one of the biggest oil refiners in the US, has signed a five-year deal with Australian firm Mission NewEnergy to purchase up to 60 million gallons/yr of biodiesel. Mission said the agreement with Valero includes provisions to double the annual volumes and extend the deal for an additional five years. Based on existing market prices, maximum volumes and maximum contract life, the deal could be worth up to US$3.5 billion.
