Chinese to Fund Malaysia Plant

Private Malaysian firm Merapoh Resources said Wednesday that two Chinese investors will fund its $10 billion refinery at Kedah in northern Malaysia (IOD Jul.14,p6). Chairman Nazri Ramli told a press conference that private equity firms Hong Kong Beijing Star and Winson Investment will each spend $5 billion on a 40% stake, leaving Merapoh with 20%.
