Trafigura Locks Up $700 Million

Dutch trading giant Trafigura said Monday that it secured a one-year, $700 million revolving credit facility from a syndicate of Asia-Pacific banks. The credit is to refinance an existing one-year, $200 million facility that closed in November 2008. The trader said "the facility was considerably oversubscribed," and that it was originally seeking only $505 million. In March, the company locked up $520 million in rotating credit from a syndicate of European banks (IOD Apr.3,p7).
