EnCana Sees Flat Q4 Profit

Canada's largest natural gas producer, En-Cana, reported flat net income for the fourth-quarter as increased production and hedging gains were offset by declining commodity prices.Non-cash hedging gains of US$747 million helped raise net income to $1.08 billion ($1.43/share), roughly even with the year-earlier period. Excluding one-time items, EnCana's operating profit fell by nearly half to $449 million (60φ/share).
