Pakistan's government on Thursday said the country is imposing a new tax to offset revenue lost because of an earlier Supreme Court decision to suspend a carbon tax on petroleum products. The new levy will effectively return oil prices to previous levels. Officials said the government stood to lose $1.52 billion without the new tax.
