Centrica Plans Overshadow UK Venture's Latest Acquisition

Small North Sea producer Venture Production on Tuesday unveiled its second asset deal in less than a week, again under the watchful eye of UK compatriot Centrica, which continues to stalk the independent without actually tabling an offer. UK-based Venture said Tuesday that it has bought all of Lundin Petroleum's 1.8% holding in Dutch group Nogat for ?9 million ($12.5 million). Nogat owns a pipeline and onshore gas processing terminal at Den Helder in the Netherlands. Venture said the deal will give it a tariff income from the gas passing through the Nogat operations, as well as a lower export tariff for future output from its F3-FA, A15a and B17a discoveries in the southern North Sea.
