Malaysia Changes Fuel Specs

Malaysia has changed its transport fuel specifications, increasing the octane number of gasoline and decreasing the maximum sulfur content of diesel. The new benchmark grade of gasoline will be 95-octane, rather than 92-octane; 97-octane is the new premium grade. The maximum allowed sulfur content of diesel has been cut from 3,000 parts per million to 500 ppm.
