East Siberian Fields to Get Tax Breaks

Moscow has singled out 13 oil fields in East Siberia that are in line for tax breaks on export duties in a bid to boost development. But producers won't enjoy the privilege for long, as it is set to last only nine months. A resolution signed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin lists the fields, and orders the energy and natural resources ministries to come up by Aug. 1 with a mechanism to identify the oil produced by these fields. Customs procedures for exports of those volumes have to be approved by the same date.
