Chinese state Sinopec's output in the first half of the year was largely flat, with refining and crude output rising marginally. The firm, which released the production data on its website Tuesday, refined 86.9 million tons of crude in the six months, up about 1.8% from the same period in 2008. The total equates to 3.53 million b/d, or an increase of 2.3% when the extra day caused by last year's leap year is taken into account
