Lukoil Well on Fire

A well operated by Lukoil, Russia's biggest private oil producer, has been on fire since Friday night after a group of unidentified people tried to cut the pipeline. The accident happened at the Kudinovskoye gas and condensate field in the middle Volga region, which has been in development since 1977 and is licensed to Lukoil subsidiary Volgogradneftegas. According to a Lukoil spokesman, 44 Mcm/d of gas is being flared with flames 15 meters high.
