摘要

India will reintroduce tax breaks on natural gas production in a bid to lure investors to an upcoming licensing round. The seven-year tax holiday on profits from gas sales and production was unexpectedly withdrawn last year - though was kept in place for oil - just before the seventh upstream bid round held under New Exploration Licensing Policy (Nelp) terms. As a result, companies stayed away in droves.
