Chevron Mourns Former Exec

Chevron said its former Chairman and Chief Executive Bill Haynes died Thursday at the age of 83. Haynes joined Standard Oil Co.of California, now Chevron, in 1947. In 1956, he was named chief engineer of the company's producing affiliate in Venezuela and in 1958 he became vice president of that operation.
