Finnish refiner Neste Oil reported a profi before taxes of ?136 million ($188.7 mil- lion) in the third quarter, up from ?102 mil lion in the same period last year, as higher refining margins buoyed earnings. The group said that it had benefited from its focus on diesel - which saw higher mar gins than other products - good opera- tional performance at its refineries and a strong contribution from its base oils busi- ness. The group's average refining margin was $7.48 per barrel, up from $5.97/bbl in the same period last year.
