Tap Spuds Second Brunei Well

Australian junior Tap Oil said Monday that it has spudded its Markisa-1 well in Block M onshore Brunei. It will be the sec- ond well drilled in the current exploration program after Mawar-1 in August (IOD Sep.15,p3). Markisa-1 is being drilled to test the oil potential of a fault compartment on the Belait Anticline and will evaluate several targets in the Miocene Belait Formation, Tap said. It is about 30 km south of the giant Ser- ial oil field.
